Our Experience
Examples of our Consultancy Projects
Infectious Disease Planning and Pandemic Response Teams
We have led pandemic response teams and consulted for companies of differing sizes during the COVID crisis. Our backgrounds in Immunology, Organizational Psychology and International Medicine are invaluable to advising effectively whatever the infectious threat: from cholera and malaria, to Ebola, Zika or COVID.
For an oil and gas client, we were asked to provide expert infectious disease and international medicine advice during a review of a serious medical incident. Our knowledge of the industry, remote medical operations, testing, and local medical practices enabled us to provide a clear judgement on what had occurred and how improvements might be made.
Site visits – health assessments Uganda, Nigeria, West Indies
When multinational companies have particular issues with the healthcare provision in certain countries, there is often no better option that to perform in-field assessments. Working closely with the organisations is essential to learn what the issues are and what solutions they are currently utilising.
We have a background working in some of the world’s best hospitals. Knowing what excellence is informs our on-site assessments, as well as a realistic appreciation of what is possible in different parts of the globe. Sometimes, we have been asked to review the medical infrastructure that already exists to support a project.
When consulted to conduct in-field appraisals of the healthcare facilities in the West Indies, our assessment of several islands revealed a different set of challenges for an unwell client. As the populations of the Islands in the region were modest, the scale of local medical facilities was sometimes found to be limited, as was the range of medical issues to which the hospital staff were exposed. Exceptional medical facilities were present, however, and identifying where these were located in the region, and how patients could be transported to them, was of paramount importance to our client.
In rural Uganda, we were invited to review a large set of clinics and hospitals to understand where patients might be stabilised should a medical emergency occur. Reviewing the medical capability of the hospitals in Kampala was also part of the brief, as an appreciation of what could be undertaken within Uganda and what would need to occur in neighbouring Kenya, a centre of medical excellence, was essential.
