Dr Simon Worrell

MSc MBBS MRCP

Founder Chiron International

Simon’s early medical career included being a hospital physician in the UK’s NHS where he specialised and researched into HIV Medicine. With a background in Immunology, he worked on how the immune system was responding to the groundbreaking treatments that were being developed at the time. It was whilst working on an HIV vaccine project in Uganda that his medical horizons were broadened, leading to an abiding interest in International Medicine that has fueled the majority of his career. Simon has led medical teams in several of the most important International Medical Companies in the world. Working for a diverse range of clients, from Governments and Large Multinationals, to NGOs and charities, he has developed a deep understanding of the complexities of caring for patients and their organisations in an unparalleled range of situations and circumstances. It is his view that only by taking a bespoke approach to an individual’s needs can the best outcomes be achieved for the patient, their loved ones, and their organisations.

In demand for this infectious disease planning and advice, Simon has consulted for Governments on Ebola, major financial institutions on Zika and MERS, and the Oil and Gas and Tech sectors for disease planning and protocols, informed by Simon’s medical and organisational psychology degrees. However, it was  during the COVID pandemic that his abilities with innovation received more widespread attention when he instigated and developed the airport COVID PCR testing programme in the UK – the first time that this had been proposed. Overcoming many obstacles, he and his team were able to open up travel to millions of travellers, supporting trade and tourism.

Simon has established Chiron International to offer companies and individuals true excellence in medical support.
